      • In the four-day cleaning study on the lake, which feeds from the bottom and reaches a depth of 15 meters, bottom and algae cleaning was carried out and measures were taken against external factors that pollute the lake. Governor Ayhan and AFAD Provincial Director Nazif Ekinci also performed scuba diving with fish men, supported the cleaning work.
        Governor Ayhan, said after the dive, Sivas to reveal the natural beauty and awareness they want to create, he said.
        Stating that the program was organized within the scope of World Environment Day activities, Ayhan said, Özellikle Zero Waste Project was started under the auspices of the wife of our President Emine Erdoğan, in particular. 
      • During the summer, thousands of people visited the lake, Sivas ‘ s Gurun to only 10 kilometer away from the center of the town.
      • The deepest point of the Gökpınar Lake at an altitude of 1500 is 15 meters. Even when the weather is clear, you can see the fish floating in this 15-meter depth of the lake in clear blue water.
      • The biggest reason for the cleanliness and clarity that resembles an aquarium is the constant boiling water from almost anywhere in the lake.
      • In summer and winter, the temperature of the water always stays at 11 degrees. For this reason, at low temperatures during the winter months, it turns into a steaming pool in a white cover.
      • The path of the lake, which is at an altitude of 1500, reaches up to 2000 altitudes and is very difficult to reach in winter.
      • Although it is forbidden to fish and swim in the lake, diving is free. Due to the high altitude, 1 meter dive in the lake is equal to 3 meters at sea.
      • For this reason, 2-star divers are usually allowed to dive. AFAD teams from Sivas, Malatya and Kayseri prefer this place for high altitude diving.
      • While the waters from Gökpınar Lake are used as county water in Gürün, it is also used as irrigation water in agriculture. The fish production facilities around Gürün are also operated by the water coming out of this area.

        • Malatya Airport is 124 kilometers away from Gürün and Sivas Airport is 157 kilometers away. Malatya airport can be preferred because it is a closer and more spacious and comfortable road.
        • Around the lake, there is a restaurant with a capacity of 350 people where you can see the magnificent colors from above, a hotel with 4 rooms and 60 arbor for those who want to have a picnic.
          • Places that are closed during the winter months open the season in May.
          • The Gürün festival, which is organized every week in the weeks following the Eid al-Fitr, is held around the lake and fishing competitions are held exclusively for that day.
